Fellowship
Fellowship Program Summary
The Fellowship program in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at North Shore-LIJ is designed to expose the physician in training with extensive experience in both the outpatient and inpatient surgical management of gynecologic disorders using the full arsenal of minimally invasive techniques. The physicians within the Division of Gynecology at North Shore have been leaders in the field of advanced laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery for nearly two decades and established one of the first robotic gyn surgery programs in the region. In 2012, North Shore University Hospital was recognized as a Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery by the AAGL/SRC.
With the program’s expansion to 2 years beginning July, 2013, the fellows will have formal rotations in the surgical subspecialties of gynecology providing even more experience in the care and management of patients with a wide range of conditions. Additionally, the fellows will be provided ample time to complete required research endeavors and will have the opportunity to take graduate level courses at the Elmezzi Graduate School of Molecular Medicine.
